They have finally arrived! After 40 days of intense planning, hours spent for college permissions, days of promotions at different colleges and places in the city, a mega event with Google and 400 students, dozens of Group Discussions & team activities and of-course more than a hundred personal interviews, we have finally expanded the family of AIESEC Chandigarh!
52 New Recruits or New Wrecks as we fondly call them have joined the Local Committee! Wooohooo! We are highly excited for the kind of diversity as well as talent we have witnessed in them so far!

Kristina, one of the AIESEC interns recently left Chandigarh after spending two months working at Ashiana – an orphanage located in Panchkula. Just before she left, she organized a sporting event for the children and left us an account of her experience at the NGO:

“Ashiana Children’s Home hosted the “Ashiana Olympics” in the first weekend in August 2008. This event’s main goal was to have the kids learn about the Olympics and the spirit of good competition all while having a great time. The event took place over 3 days and included opening and closing ceremonies along with a variety of sports and games. The children each represented one of four chosen countries (India, Canada, USA and the UK) and all contributed to the making of their nation flag. This kids also took part in various cultural performances including yoga and dance demonstrations. With the theme of healthy competition in mind, every team was awarded a medal with different inscriptions such as “top performer” or “most spirited’. We capped off the weekend with a giant dance party including Hindi, Punjabi and English music! All in all the Ashiana Olympics were a great success and will be one of my fondest memories from my time spent with the kids.”
