AIESEC  Enters LPU

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ws signed on the 14^th January 2009, between AIESEC- Chandigarh and LPU by the president of AIESEC-Chandigarh and respected Executive Dean ma’am.

                AIESEC is the international student platform for young people to discover and develop their potential. Present in over 1100 universities and encompassing over 28,000 members, AIESEC is recognized by the United Nations as the world’s largest student organization. Focusing on leadership development, AIESEC offers over 6500 leadership opportunities each year to facilitate the Global Internship Program, which sees the exchange of over 5000 students each year to live and work in another country. AIESEC is an organization that activates leaders, creating a network of global change agents that have a positive impact on society. A research paper presented at the International Positive Psychology Summit in Washington DC, United States, shows that AIESEC members possess distinctive leadership strengths.

                With the signing of the MoU, LPU and AIESEC-Chandigarh believe that mutual collaboration will enhance and serve in the interest of both parties thus helping them in achieving a common goal of providing the students as well as the staff/faculty of LPU, a national/international platform to discover and develop their potential.

                On 24th February’09, 20 students were declared shortlisted after a round of group discussion followed by personal interview of the candidates. Later these went to attend three day Leadership Development Seminar from 27th Feb to 1st Mar’09 which gave them an immense exposure over the cultural diversity, enhanced the team spirit. All this made them realized “THE POWER OF NOW”
