It Was an opportunity for all the internationals to showcase their culture, as well as take a sneak peak into the various cultural backgrounds in India. With everyone dressed in their national clothes and the food from all over the world the event has turned out to be a perfect blend of world cultures.

“EMPOWER” was an effort by AIESEC Chandigarh to provide college going students a platform where they would learn and share ideas and perspectives. It is a platform where you can live and experience leadership and entrepreneurship skills through fun activities, attending workshops by KPMG and Soil India and also interact with internationals.
The Objectives of the Event were:
- To involve college students in a multicultural event.
- To develop leadership qualities amongst the students.
- Knowledge building.
- Creating a sense of team- spirit through competition.
- To stimulate creativity and innovation.

India’s Independence Day is celebrated on 15 August to commemorate its independence from British rule and its birth as a sovereign nation on that day in 1947. The day is a national holiday in India. All over the country, flag-hoisting ceremonies are conducted by the local administration in attendance. The main event takes place in New Delhi, where the Prime Minister hoists the national flag at the Red Fort and delivers a nationally televised speech from its ramparts.
AIESEC being an International Organisation and AIESEC Chandigarh, doing so many cultural exchanges throughout the year, On 15 August 2010 ,AIESEC Chandigarh celebrated Independence Day with all its members and Internationals that were present in the city at that time to spread the knowledge about the INDIA’s INDEPENDENCE and the story behind that. It was a chance to showcase our culture to so many people, from different countries by telling them stories about India’s history. All AIESEC in Chandigarh interns got a chance to know more about our country, it was an evening enjoyed by all AIESEC members alumni’s and trainees.

AIESEC is an international platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential in order to have a positive impact on society, where each member of AIESEC goes through an integrated development experience comprised of a global learning environment, leadership opportunities and international internships.
In order to make the city youth aware of the same and make them experience this organization, AIESEC Chandigarh had August recruitments where 85 members became a part of this organization after going through a tough selection procedure.
AIESEC Chandigarh organised a session called “Ice breakers” to welcome the new recruits who were selected among 3500 applicants in Indira Holiday Home. New members experienced the world of AIESEC through Ice Breakers which helped them to have an understanding of the organization.
The new recruits(as we call them) went for a 7 day long national conference in Silvassa, by the name of National Leadership Development Seminar(NLDS) where all the new august batch of AIESEC in India, gets together for a better understanding of AIESEC

June National Conference 2010 was a seminar for AIESEC members of different cities of the country to get together and develop leadership qualities. This was an opportunity for members to be able to learn the AIESEC procedure and to develop communication and leadership skills.
June National Conference 2010 was an opportunity for all AIESEC members of India to come at one place and analyze their half-yearly results at the same time plan for the remaining half year. This activity helps the members to achieve the objective of the organization which is “Develop the change agents of the society at large.”
