Self Discovery

Above picture defines my experience very well ,

My AIESEC journey starts from the second day of my college , when a

group of people known as ‘”Recruitment Organizing team” were selling some

forms , didn’t knew what was it , Didn’t understood exactly what she said ,

but its true “Opportunities do not come with their values stamped upon

them”.

This Beautiful journey started the time I came out of my interview room ,

“DISCOVERED MYSELF”

Became part of an organization which prepared me for almost everything .

I had a question till 4th month of my AIESEC journey – why Im here , and what im

learning from it ?

Have you ever Worked in a team , from where I learnt that “Coming together is a

beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”

Became part of an organizing Team , Interacted with people with different mindsets,

gave information seminars to 70- 80 people , fortunately all elder to me !

Attended Conferences where I never expected from myself to stay awake whole night

working and thinking about world issues.

And where JIVING was a stress reliever .

· Where we See diversity.

· Where we show excellence .

AIESEC Values –Which made VISION of my life , helped me face all hard times .

AIESEC journey – I hope it never ends but AGAIN challenging time came and most

memorable moment – WHEN I BECAME Team leader of OGX

Time when I promised to deliver my best to AIESEC , create leaders and IMPACT .

This experience can be defined in simple words – “Life changing “

AIESEC is not only about learning , experience and challenges . What it gave me was

“OPPORTUNITIES” – it provided opportunities to be a leader of an other

international organization , it provided me opportunity to attend United nation

conference . Moreover bought a change in me in terms of not only Professionalism ,

but also to prioritize your personal goals .

This is the only organization where You live , Learn and Laugh !

And specially you Connect to People from every part of the world.

My Journey

I know it may sound absurd but being a computer science student, tell me a better way to start by starting with hello world.

As for me here is my Blog to talk about my AIESEC Experience

I joined this Organisation some time in March.

At the beginning I was really cynical about the whole this but with a period of say 2 weeks, I got the hang of what this really is. Even now after being in AIESEC for 6 months, everyday I’m learning new about the organisation and everyday i feel as if i’m getting the hang of it.

About some time back in June , I got the honor of being a Team Leader in OGX Outbound, which was a very memorable moment for me.

Well I’ll be sharing all my experience here. All the good things i like, things I don’t like as well as my past experience that I had at the beginning of my time at AIESEC.

My Internship Experience- Krasnoyarsk, Russia

As a young & striving 19 year old, one may not experience life at its best, not because we are not ready to accept the atrocities of life, but just because our choices are not that critical.

On the contrary, I consider myself fortunate to make one such choice which competely influenced my self being. This choice was none other than choosing to go for an internship!

My unshaken trust in AIESEC to change lives eventually effected me after working for 2 years for AIESEC Chandigarh, India, when I applied and got selected for an education internship in Krasnoyarsk, Russiain summer camp. It was a journey whose leader and follower was no different but myself. My complete stay in an alien environment (initially) was a challenge on my face which I openly accepted and with the help of AIESEC Krasnoyarsk overcame victorius.

Power of AIESEC Internship

This is my first blog as I had never tried to write a blog and this is what AIESEC is all about learning new things. This blog is all about Internship experience of my friend from France. At first she was very scared When she landed in India. She was missing her parents and had a cultural shock as it was her first Internship at age of 18.but slowly she started Interacting and then got two roomies now she was out of shock and started enjoying she made friends from different country and travelled different parts of country. But this is not the purpose of this blog all about. The real part of the story starts from here.

When friends you make starts leaving then you feel terrible that you spent whole of two months with them and now its time to say goodbye Moreover you feel more terrible to feel that probably you are not going to meet them again. Goodbyes are even difficult for me. Whenever I see the picture posted below it gives me Goosebumps even though I am not present in this picture. I was upset but at the same time I started feeling the good side of it and that’s the power of AIESEC.I started thinking of all the good times. We all had together. What if I had never met them then probably I have not been feeling sad. Also then I started feeling these are the awesome people that I have met and I am very lucky that I feel like this because I have an amazing Experience with them. This is what the Internship gives you and this is the

power of AIESEC Internship.

Start of a “Life changing experience”

One Night, While talking to a friend about how my life has been so far, telling her about my routine and bored of gallivanting and want to experience something new. She advised me to join AIESEC, having no idea about the worlds largest youth run organisation, I registered online to join it. After clearing the group discussions and team activities, I got a call for a personal interview, was too lazy to go for the interview so dint go for the first time on the last day of interviews (now one of my best friends) called me and promised me that it will be a life changing experience for me if i get through. Took the best ever decision in my life and went through the interview and luckily cleared it.

Since then everyday has been a new learning experience for me. Been a part of the outgoing exchange team and sending people abroad for internships and delivering life changing experience to people and see them smile nothing can make you feel better then that.

Now, I am a team leader in hospitality handling corporate relations.

My early stage..(new born)

To begin with my new lyf in new world with new ppl with ZERO expectations. I have spent my valuable year in this organisation and how this yr came to an end I have NO clue. This organisation accidently came into my lyf . And I have never thought that I can grow in this new world….. my new world is SO SO so forward then me. A new born bud was in her cosy and comfortable shelter.. Never thought of going out of her shell… as she was in this own world with her few loving ppl. She never felt important going out of her world. But one accident in her world made her realise that she is stupid…. The way she is living in her world is actually not the way of living. She realised that and she regret that.

After that she thought of entering new world . She was very confident in the beginning. She cleared all the basic test to enter (with confidence). Final test the head of the organisation asked me WHY u want to enter in this organisation??? She was quite for a second (she went back to her own world…. and

thought what all had happen.ignoring that) den she give a stupid rply.

My Experience

Hoping for the BEST

HI,

Giving out to the world what you have inside is not that easy, i will try my best.

From what i remember, i joined this organisation in times when i was following a monotonous schedule in life, was not the ambitious types. I got the form from Nancy Vaid, she told me something which i don’t remember, but it was convincing enough. Really want to thank her but didn’t see her again. So, thank you.

I became a part of this organisation, went for a conference, met people, some followed up to be very good friends.

I was told about the AIESEC way and the organisation’s vision which seemed impossible to achieve, exchange being the only product, i was not sure if we could establish peace and fulfillment of human kind’s potential as being an engineer, i used to question everything a little too much.

I started as a member working for raising and matching, had appointments in far off places, with me, were those, who believed in the cause. Initially, i always had a doubt in mind regarding the purpose of what we are doing, but kept on working as people around me seemed to believe in something which i could not perceive then, but had an intuition about.

I was made team leader of project ASK, realizations started to happen, it was raining interns in the city, my first few realizations gave me an idea of why we do pick ups and home stays. It was nice to talk to people from so many different countries, and share views with them on different things, this was the time i realized AIESEC does brake cultural barriers. Interns were still coming, and it was nice to have a helping hand from other departments as well, all this made me realize that, we might be working in accordance with different job descriptions, but all of us are driven by cause.

My project started and the realization period was still ON, this was the toughest time I’ve had in AIESEC till now, as i had to manage 8 interns from different countries along with my project, but it worked out because i had clarity about the organisation by now. I delivered my project where i saw the practical implication of AIESEC’s vision, which made me establish, even if not possible, believing in the cause and by every single effort we put in, makes it less impossible.

Today, most of the interns who worked on my project have gone back, and only 2 are left, going to leave soon. After all the time spend together makes it tough for me to wave them good bye, but,

from all those things this organisation has given me, the one thing i truly love about myself now is the HOPE which i have, that we might meet again, which is enough for me to smile when i wave them good bye.

A tryst with AIESEC

It’s amazing how many times you delete the first sentence over and over again when you are writing your first blog. I have done that a couple of times already. Sharing my feelings and what i am going through has always been very hard for me. Penning down an experience always seemed like a task. But the moment I sat down to write about AIESEC I knew my hands would do all the working on their own. About a year ago i started my journey in the exotic lands of Russia, where not only did I find my strengths and weaknesses, I also found out a wee bit about the world which we are unknown of. A world which cannot be defined by all the words in a dictionary combined. A world yet to be explored. I will not talk about how AIESEC gives you and edge over the others and how it makes you a professional you have always wanted to be, because all this happens and everybody who knows about AIESEC, would know what it is to be a part of an Organization which has been affecting people all over the world. When i was new to this organization i would often ask people what made them stick here for long. There was one unanimous answer to it. And that was the ‘people’ around them .One year later I have the same clichéd answer. Through the course of this one year I have met the most eccentric, talented and amazing people around. Not only do they stand with you during times of turmoil but are also there to celebrate the moments which have been most precious to you. From your birthdays to breakups, from failures to success, they would all stand by you through all thick and thin. You would not only find a good friend in people around you but would find the best of guides. The moral fusion between right and wrong can be defined with people of such devotion around. AIESEC is one such organization which would get you an amazing experience almost every day which you would like to share with the world. This being my first blog i am sharing one of the many reasons why i believe and trust in AIESEC Chandigarh and people affected by it. Ciao

My journey

The journey in AIESEC started quite smooth having holistic organising committee experience in both Youth To Business and Recruitments, and also having a good learning TL term in Project Conserve, but all hardships and difficult time started in this term, its hell of a experience when major pillars of your project like clients, members are not there and still you have to live upto that promise, its continuing but yes well this is what I was striving for and aim is to tide over it easily. Really feels special and more responsible after crossing 100 projections of our department, it adds to the feeling of ownership to the promise made in start. I always believe that no matter how many difficulties I face in AIESEC journey the word and name of this organisation- AIESEC will remain eternal and pure for me forever.

AIESEC although being non-profit organisation gives profit in form of a lifetime experience!

It all started here.

Goodbye butterfly

Hi ,

To all those who are wondering why I chose a goodbye insect as my first post in a random blog, please don’t be surprised. This is an ode to one of the greatest ‘good’ things that I imbibed from AIESEC(if you don’t know what AIESEC is, then please for the love of god/demi-god GOOGLE IT) I joined this exuberant organization in august of 2010.I was one of those career vultures with everest ambitions. All I really wanted was to get a decent reference on my resume and an easy way out of my monotonous college life. Turns out the AIESEC way is NOT the easy way! This Pranav broadcasting his first AIESEC story. So I met this guy in a bus full of voracious people, each shouting in their defence, yes Mafia can do that to you. The bus took us to our first national conference and back. An experience of a lifetime in 7 days. We came back and I had the opportunity to be a part of a corporate event as the head of promotions, somehow my friend and I ended up in the same organizing committee. We were never the most efficient team but we did learn a lot from each other and that’s what matters to me. It is funny that the two of us got our first real job offer while we were sticking Youth to Business posters outside Barista in Sector 35. Mind you, it was an MNC with a decent pay check. Till now the money or the portfolio means nothing, it is that rare chance which we had all because we were working in AIESEC, working for AIESEC. I can tell you that we were stopped by the police more than once because of our never-ending deadlines. I can also tell you that our superiors got real mad at us more than once because of our perennially empty oil tanks. Somewhere around the holy day of St. Valentine in the year 2011 I was made a team leader. Quite a day! Fortunately my friend was present there too, smiling in the picture of new team leaders. Even though we were in different departments I distinctly remember seeing him getting his butt thrashed during the weirdest times of the day, I did see him run all over the city for the lamest possible reasons! Besides the undying source of inspiration that he was for me, I took great pride in lending my ears to the new recruits who used to fervently come up just to share their AIESEC stories; some of them had my friend.

If you all are still wondering why I am writing about a guy with a certain degree of man love, it is because AIESEC in more than one of its beautiful ways gave me a friend, a mentor and a host of experiences that made my life better. I can safely say that if not for AIESEC I would’ve never had the privilege of meeting such a fantastic guy. Another reason for all you newbies out there who wish to widen their mental horizons, expand their network of intellectuals, do give AIESEC a try. Today my friend left AIESEC, today he, just like many others who move on with their lives after AIESEC left this organization. Yet his story told in my words lingers on. Thank you AIESEC
